AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday lambasted the CPI-M for organizing protests against Israel accusing it of causing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, whereas they are selective about choosing the nations on their list. The reaction came from the chief minister amid the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh and the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, followed by a Dramatic takeover of the Sheikh Hasina Governor by Muhammad Yunus.
Muhammad Yunus was appointed as the head of the interim government in August after Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and fled to India following widespread protests against her government.
“It’s an international issue for India and the Central Government has addressed the issue. The crisis should end in Bangladesh and not only Hindus but minorities rights should be protected,” added CM.
"But the oppositions are not telling anything in this regard. They are busy with Gaza, Iraq issues but not a single word for Bangladesh," added CM.
Tripura witnessed various protests on the Bangladesh issue, demanding the India government to intervene in the issue.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met PM Modi on Thursday afternoon to address the critical situations in neighboring Bangladesh. Jaishankar would make a statement on the matter soon.
