Agartala, January 28 (TIWN): Leaving no stone unturned, the CPI-M’s local leaders and workers of entire Gomati district are gearing up to mark the first district-level conference scheduled to be started at KBI ground in Udaipur sub-division from January 31. The conference will be started followed by an open rally and it would be continued at Udaipur Town Hall.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would inaugurated the conference and would remain present as key speaker while CPI-M state committee member and senior leader Keshab Majumder would grace the inaugural session as chief guest.
As many as 330 representatives are expected to be present in the conference. Amid mixed hopes, the CPI-M’s Gomati district committee will be constituted as earlier an ad-hoc committee was formed to manage the party’s activities till the district conference.
Though, Melarmath would take the final decision, names of Keshab Majumder, MLA Madhab Saha and CPI-M’s local leader of Amarpur- Ranjit Debnath are leading on the race to be the first secretary of Gomati district, said a party source.
To mark the conference and to make the Chief Minister happy and satisfy, the CPI-M’s leaders and workers of entire Gomati district are working hard, the source said. The different parts of Gomati district especially the KBI ground at Udaipur is being adorned with party’s flag, festoon and posters in full swing, said the source.
To draw the highest mass gathering in the conference, the party leaders and workers are campaigning hard across the district, added the source.
