AGARTALA, Nov 18 (TIWN): CNG crisis has become a regular problem for vehicle drivers in the state Tripura. Protesting against CNG crisis problems, vehicle drivers staged a protest in Melaghar on Saturday by blocking the road.
The agitated drivers alleged that for the last three days, they have not been getting CNG which has forced them to sit in protest. Due to the road blockade, normal transportation was disrupted.
It has been known that due to power-cut the CNG station has been left un-operational. The Sonamura-Bishramganj route was paralyzed as the angry vehicle drivers were unready to vacate the road without solution to their problems.
Getting information, Melaghar PS OC rushed to the spot. The police officials requested the blockers to withdraw the protest, assuring that their problems would be solved soon.
After getting assurance from the police, the road blockers had withdrawn their protest. However, they warned if the CNG service is not restarted soon, then the protest will resume again.
