AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): Amid tall claims of the Tripura BJP Govt on its so-called “Double Engine” Governance, deprivation continues. Tripura has 30 Civil Defence Volunteers who have raised their voices today against a long deprivation after continuing to remain unpaid for the last eight months. Talking to the media, the Civil Defence Volunteers (CDV) said that they are working since Covid time risking their lives. During Covid waves, wearing PPE they had to serve the people but it has been a long 8 months since the Civil Defence Volunteers are not paid. They get Rs. 200 per day which is Rs. 6,000 per month. Voicing against the long deprivation, the Civil Defence Volunteers met CMO about it.

“We are continuously roaming across the offices but we are not giving our money. Our salaries are postponed. Durga puja is close but we are unable to purchase dresses for our children. On being bound, we have appeared in front of media”, said a deprived CDV.
