AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Out of 299 promises, BJP in its 2018 Vision Document assured to regularize all contractual employees and also regularizing the teaching, non teaching staff, whereas after 4 and half years gone and the next Assembly Election is just knocking the doors, there is no sign of regularizing the teachers and also there are no pay hikes. Only 3% was increased as per High Court’s order. SSA teachers on Tuesday called a press meet to address the issue. Talking to media, SSA teachers association leader Bastab Debbarma said, “Our main demand is regularization but along with contract jobs, we are facing a lot of deprivation. No DA hike was added to us. When in 2017 we were in Hunger Strike, BJP was opposition. We were assured by Biplab Deb, Ratan Lal Nath like leaders about our regularization”.

“2017, Sep 1st and Sep 11th there was a hike of our salaries, including the non-teaching staff but since the Govt changed no salary was hiked”, said Debbarma.

SSA teachers said, if necessary they will go on hunger strike again as already the Govt has crossed its deadline to keep promises.
