AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): Although on January 4, 2022 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had claimed about a Double-Vikas under the Double-Engine Govt he remained silent over the pre-poll promises of Tripura BJP like 7th pay Commission, 50,000 Govt Jobs in the first one year, permanent solution of 10323 teachers issue. Home Minister Amit Shah as the then BJP president promised from 4th March, all Govt employees under Tripura Govt will receive the Central Pay Commission but after four years of the Govt, around 27% of DA pending and in last 4 years only 3% DA was given instead of 30% which was generally given under the previous Govts. BJP claimed before 2018 election that the people who are getting 20,000 will get 40,000 and the people who are getting 40,000 will get 1.25 lakhs after BJP Govt comes to power.

Frustrations have gripped Tripura State Govt employees under the BJP led State Govt who were promised before Election to be given Central Pay Scale under 7th Pay Commission since the first Cabinet meeting in March 2018. Reportedly, only 3% DA was cleared to the employees of Tripura in the last 4 years whereas the previous Left Govt used to pay at least 7% to 10% of DA per year. Thus, whereas earlier the employees used to get benefits of 27 to 20% DA per year, this time, they are getting only 3% DA for 3 years. Moreover, no 7th Pay Commission was given and only 0.32 factor was raised by the State Govt.

CM Biplab Deb claimed that he had implemented the 7th Pay Commission in Tripura in the first cabinet meeting during his West Bengal meeting but if fact-checked, only 3% DA was cleared by the BJP Govt here since in power whereas the previous Govt was giving 5% DA hikes twice annually. Moreover, the never imagined ESMA-like dangerous law has been implemented in Tripura and the Tripura Govt also ordered the suspension of employees over Facebook posts.

The Essential Services Maintenance Act (Esma) has literally snatched away Govt employees' right to protest or to hold strikes. After Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb claimed in West Bengal that his Govt in Tripura has hiked teachers' salaries from the 4th Pay Commission to the 7th Pay Commission.

Opposition parties leaders have lashed out at the BJP over pending DAs after merely 0.32% hike in the name of the 7th Pay Commission. BJP pre-poll speeches, advertisements are viral on social media now. On the one hand, the Govt is saying that there is no fund crisis but on the other side, there is no attempt to clear the pending DAs of the Govt employees.
