AGARTALA, Aug 18 (TIWN): Crime against women are increasing in an alarming note in Tripura. In yet another incident, a housewife was allegedly killed by her in-laws at Amarpur. An FIR has been lodged against the accused Sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

Reportedly, the deceased identified as Brishti Begum got married to Jaydeep Munda, resident of Thalchhara area of Amarpur few years ago. After few months of marriage her in-laws allegedly started torturing her on daily basis. On Tuesday, her in-laws tried to kill her by giving her poison.

The housewife was immediately taken to GB hospital on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning the victim succumbed to death. Her body will be submitted to the family after post mortem.

An FIR has been lodged against her in-laws in Birganj police station by the victim's family members. The police started investigating the matter.
