AGARTALA, Aug 5 (TIWN): Tripura Trinamool Congress on Thursday has gheraoed Police Headquarter in protest against inactiveness of the police in link with the attack incident conducted by BJP on Trinamool General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. Not a single person was arrested so far, nobody was interested though the attacks on Trinamool Congress and its General Secretary had taken place in various spots on 2nd August. It has been 72 hours since the attack took place on Abhishek Banerjee in Udaipur. Yesterday, Trinamool activists met IG Law and Order over the incident, seeking immediate action against the hooligans whose faces are visible in viral footage but as so far no development came to the matter, today once again Trinamool protested at the police headquarter. A representative team met the higher authority of the Police Dept over the incident. The political activists said until police takes action against the hooligans, protests will be continuing.Â
All India Trinamool General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee who arrived in Tripura on 2nd August was attacked in Udaipur near Tripura Sundari temple.
On August 2nd, at 12 O'Clock Abhishek Banerjee's Matabari visit was pre-announced. With sticks, iron rods his vehicle was hit, stone pelting which is another culture of BJP was too accomplished.
No proper security arrangement was done by Gomati District administration which has eased the path for miscreants to conduct violence.
In a tweet, Abhishek Banerjee said, "Well done @BjpBiplab for taking the state to new heights".
However, after the attack Abhishek Banerjee said that he will come 5 times more than the BJP Central leaders in Tripura and Biplab Deb can't stop him from entering Tripura. He further added, "Tripura Election is now a challenge for Trinamool".
