AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): It was in 2010 that Tripura Govt first released 150 seats for free B.Ed Training Courses near Budhha Mandir located institution for regular students and due to increasing numbers of schools, Tripura used to recruit huge numbers of teachers without B.Ed but in 2009 after New Education Policy, many teachers in Tripura under various circumstances lost jobs and many contractual employees' jobs are at high risk as the present BJP Govt is unready to consider their qualities though appointed in 2005. Though SSA teachers were recruited in 2005 (long back of 2009's policy) but the Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has said that B.Ed, percentage of board examination, graduation are obvious for regularization. However, when quality of teachers are sought now, it is ignored how tough it was to score 50% in graduation or school under the old pattern syllabus.Â
Reacting against criticism and insults of Tripura teachers as many calling them "unqualified", Manik Sarkar said, "B.Ed is just a Criteria but not Qualifier of a good teacher. It is experience which makes one a good teacher".
He further said, "The New Education Policy was criticized countrywide and we also opposed which made B.Ed mandatory. How many B.Ed Colleges were in Tripura before 2009 ?".
"There is no Scope of Confusion. Due to shortage of qualified candidates due to New Education Policy, we sought relaxation and after BJP Govt came in power, Supreme Court also gave relaxation.....where is the confusion there" ? asked the former Chief Minister of Tripura.
