AGARTALA, Nov 26 (TIWN): "Tripura Police have become just Wooden Dolls", such has been commented by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Thursday in a press conference aftermath, the Leftist trade unions held a Zero-Picketing successful strike amid statewide BJP's violence. Today, Left leadership ordered the workers not to indulge in any picketing although many party offices were set on fire and workers were beaten. Addressing media, Manik Sarkar stated, "Today from Journalists to Lawyers, Doctors all are facing severe attacks but police's role is mute. The fourth pillar of democracy, the media persons are attacked everyday. They are physically attacked. People can hide their votes but when a journalist works and takes photos for events, it is no more a secret profession. Police are nothing but Wooden Dolls now, although once upon a time Tripura police were national pride". He also thanked people for succeeding the Trade Union called strike which was done with zero-picketing today.
