AGARTALA, Nov 20 (TIWN): When Modi Govt is already labeled by opposition as 'Gabbar Singh' due to imposition of massive taxes, Tripura BJP CM Biplab Deb, who is often trolled for his motormouth said that Modi Govt knows how to collect taxes and that's why 12% GST holding items' purchasing has been made mandatory to get LTC for the Govt employees.

Biplab Deb today in a programme at Agartala Town Hall said, "When nationwide employees can't go out of the states for COVID-19, Modi Govt has started a scheme where 12% GST holding items need to be purchased to get the LTC. However, that 1.5 lakhs can not be saved in Banks by the employees and the Govt employees will have to buy something with 12% GST to get their LTC money. It is at the surface is although seen as loss to Govt but the fact is not actually like this. Indeed, for the Govt, it's earning. 12% amount of GST that means at least Rs. 12,000 from 1 lakh's claim will go to the Govt balance only. That is called ideas of Modi Govt".
