AGARTALA, July 31 (TIWN): With the 4th day of lockdown has started in Tripura, security measures have been beefed up succeeding the ongoing ‘Total Lockdown’.The lockdown started from July 26 night 9 PM and to be continued till 4th August 5 AM. This lockdown in the Unlock period has put the public in trouble, but lockdown was necessitated due to COVID-19 cases surpassing 4,500 causing 21 deaths so far, including 2 suicides of COVID-19 patients in this Northeast state. Today, from morning police were on duty to keep people in home and also many came under actions. Legal actions were taken against a large numbers of people who violated social distancing or unnecessarily came out of home.In Agartala also, no vehicle was seen plying on roads, whereas tight security was imposed throughout the state.

Police were seen not allowing anyone to go out without any emergency or proper reason.

On yesterday, total 284 persons were tested COVID-19 positive. Right now Tripura has 1786 active cases, whereas 2678 persons were recovered so far.
