AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): Minister Ratanlal Nath on Saturday has glorified the ASHA workers, medical staffs, specially Doctors for their extreme dedications to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. Addressing media, Minister Ratanlal Nath said that in Tripura these workers are extremely dedicated and it’s really a matter of pride. However, when showering praises to the medical staffs, the Minister remained silent over the PPE crisis which was alleged not once but multiple times by Doctors, Nurses and recently ASHA workers staged protest on that issue. Although on April, 2020 Tripura Health Dept had found the protest of the nurses for PPE were unethical when state is suffering from such a major tension due to COVID19 Outbreak. 18 nurses were served with show-case notices after they showed protest at GB hospital demanding PPE and accordingly action was taken, but on July 1, 2020 during a protest for payments, Intern Doctors have slammed the State Govt over PPE crisis in their hospital.

The protesting intern Doctors of GB Hospital has revealed the truth that being the frontline soldiers they are not getting any personal protective equipment (PPE) from the government.

They are working in hospital, collecting samples only wearing masks as no special care has been provided to them amid Covid situation.

Tripura has reported two Corona Virus pandemic death with around 2000 positive cases in state.

The agitators slammed the State Govt asking, what is the meaning of keeping a Govt which can’t pay interim Doctors their limited pays ? Ironically, today is National Doctor's Day in India when Tripura's Doctors are suffering in crisis but Tripura Govt has assured about a 'Model State' by next few months.
