‘Numbers of Blood Donation camps have increased in Tripura than before’, Minister Ratanlal Nath claimed amid state records first deaths in Blood Crisis

AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath once again has backed his Govt politically in a blood donation camp, saying numbers of blood donation camps have increased now than 2017’s record. However, Ratanlal Nath’s statement came when Tripura has recorded deaths in blood crisis. While addressing in a programme at Skylark cub, basically dedicated for blood donations, Minister Ratanlal Nath said, “Blood has no alternative. No money can buy this. However, Tripura is always high in blood donation rates. In 2017-18 total 27,574 person donated blood, 2018-19 total blood donators are 32,421 and in 2019-20 total 33,237 persons donated blood. This year even after having COVID-19 total 25 camps are done and more will happen. Total 1622 persons have given blood. Highest numbers of blood donators were from 10323. They arranged 341 blood donors breaking Tripura Police’s record”.

However, when BJP Govt is promoting blood donation camps, the opposition party CPI-M has complained to WHO and other 13 organizations after they faced physical, violent attacks by BJP party in their blood donation camps.

On yesterday, DYFI Secretary Nabarun Deb informed media that 2 persons have recently died in Tripura due to blood crisis.
