AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers have written a letter to Chief Minister Biplab Deb by post, after they allegedly failed to get any appointment to meet the Chief Minister. Talking to media at the Post Office Chowmuhani, a terminated woman former teacher said, “People’s memory is very short. We forget often what we say and thus, we don’t want CM to forget his given promise. So, we are trying to remind the CM how we are living today. We are looking at CM’s face and waiting for his step. We were teachers, that is correct. We loved our students, that is correct. Just we want to say, till CM does not acknowledges our pains, we will continue to remind him about this”. Another former teacher said, “Due to COVID-19 we are unable to say anything. We are unable to meet the Chief Minister. Whenever, we try to say anything, police forces are trying to suppress us”.“As due to police, we can’t send our voice to CM, standing on that ground, we found a path to reach him out. Thus, we have tried to send our voice via post card”, said the teacher. BJP before 2018 election had promised to secure 10323 teachers livelihood by changing a portion of the existing laws and said a file was sent to the Union Law Ministry but the status of the file could not be known till day.

Our condition is beyond explanation, but to reach out the CM, across Tripura, we have started this movement to send letter to CM. Everyone will write to the CM”, said another teacher.
