AGARTALA, November 18 (TIWN): CPI (M) and the Left Front Government cannot live without corruption like fish without water, said Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman while interacting with the media persons at congress bhavan, here today.

The brutal attack by the police on congress supporters during the Civil Disobedience Movement was pre-planned by so called Mr. clean Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, the master mind behind the attack, he alleged. Under the instruction of Manik Sarkar SDPO of Sadar Rajandra Dutta directed the police and other security personnel to start the lathi charge on the congress supporters. Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will file a case against the SDPO of Sadar Rajandra Dutta to the Director of Police K. Nagaraju regarding the brutal attack on congress supporters, he informed.  The days of CPI (M) is going over very soon because the people of the state have already lost their faiths, he added.

The main objective behind the lathi charge by the police on congress supporters was to spread fear among the congress supporters. But Chief Minister Manik Sarkar may forget that the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee always raise their voice against atrocities against women, corruption, malfunctioning of PDS, chit fund, deterioration of law and order, underdevelopment of tribal people and deprivation of employees, he added. Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee has also called for 12 hour Tripura Bandh on November 20 regarding the issue, Sudip said.

Can the so called Mr. clean Chief Minister Manik Sarkar say that there is no corruption in any RD block, he asked? He further alleged that a big amount of money had been commissioned in the CPIM party fund for the scams. Why CM Manik Sarkar did not visited the houses of the raped victims till now, he said.  At present from minister to CPIM party workers remain deep necked in corruption, he mentioned.

He also criticized the tight-lipped gesture of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar over the increasing crimes and vowed to intensify party’s agitation across the state. He also urged the public to condemn the role of Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio.

The uninterrupted 21-year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Corruption in implementation of rural development schemes continues unabated. There is a state government of Tripura eats up all the money which comes from the central government for development, he alleged.

The state government deep necked in corruption and CPIM is not the Government for the people. The Left Front do not care about peoples and there problems, they do not settle issues. He also criticizes the Left Front Government’s alternative policies and said that those are against common people.
