AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Lockdown restrictions will be more tightly controlled now in Tripura as the ambulance driver who carried 5 passengers in Tripura in a 5 days journey from Chennai to Tripura was tested positive after he left the state. This incident has massively increased tension in the state as 5 persons who sent in quarantine now, reportedly came in contact with more people at Udaipur of Gomati District. Police have beefed up securities more across state. Huge numbers of police personnel were set on duty and in tight hands the gathering are being managed. Vehicle drivers were checked for the purpose of their travels, passes were checked and against illegal roamers, strict actions have been taken. The COVID positive Tamil Nadu driver must had visited, stopped in many places of Tripura but the administration is naturally unable to identify the spots right now where did the person stopped and with whom he came in contact.

Govt has called public to stay in home and keep social distancing as the virus most likely had entered Tripura and might have infected some people. Police have thus beefed up security measures.

Tripura became COVID-Free but people started returning by hiring ambulances in state at the cost of lakhs of rupees but after all these, a driver whose samples were collected along with others tested positive after he left state.

Nightlong, the Gomati District Administration was on duty and measures taken for securities. In Gomati District also, massive securities have been tightened.

On yesterday, while addressing media, Minister Ratanlal Nath expressing resentment over the issue said that as much as possible other states' people must be restricted as the previous cases also were brought from outside.

“We much talk about to bring back the stranded people in other states, but we have to now understand the risk factors. Previously, both positive cases were also brought from other states”, said Ratanlal Nath.

The Tamil Nadu driver’s sample was collected when he arrived and left on 28th April, but after he left, he was tested positive, led Health Dept to bring the people immediately in institutional quarantine.

Thus, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that now Govt will be more strict against outsiders’ entry.

Till now 5 persons have been kept in institutional quarantine but all tested negative. But, for 14 days they will be in institutional quarantine before anything can be said surely.
