AGARTALA, November 11 (TIWN): A cabinet meeting was held today at civil-secretariat, in the meeting it was decided to start the centrally sponsored Socio-Economic Survey from November 20 in Tripura.

Speaking to media persons at civil-secretariat, Rural development Minister Naresh Chandra Jamatia said that the cabinet meet has decided to publish the draft report and the leaflet of the Socio-Economic Survey to all the Panchayat Offices, Panchayat Committee Offices, Nagar Panchayat Offices and others very shortly and the Survey work under the centrally sponsored Socio-Economic Survey will start from November 20. Along with if any family has any claims and objections will be provided a form to fill up and the last date of the form submission is January 31, 2015 which will start from December 19, 2014.

The minister further mentioned that under the Socio-Economic Survey a Public Hearing will be done from November 26 till January 3. The designated officers will conduct the hearing. However briefing the reason for the Socio-Economic Survey, Minister Jamatia said that the Below Poverty Line (BPL) survey report of the state is not acceptable as it recorded false information. Therefore the Socio-Economic Survey will be done in Tripura, said Minister.

The centrally sponsored Socio-Economic Survey started during the year 2011, will record every descriptions of each family of the states of the country.

The centrally sponsored Socio-Economic Survey had already started at all the states of the country except Tripura, and all the drafts had already been finalized. But Tripura is lacked behind on this.  Therefore the cabinet meeting on Tuesday at the secretariat decide to publish the draft report very shortly.
