3 lakhs 90 thousand people suffering due to unpaid Social Pensions in Tripura !

AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): At least 3 lakhs 90 thousand people are suffering heavily due to pending social allowances in Tripura. At the same time slash in MGNREGA works have rattled the public lives in this poverty gripped state. Also the Central Schools’ pension holders yet to get their pensions, causing massive distress in the family. The beneficiaries of social pension are knocking the banks everyday but returning depressed as the pensions in halt. In a state populated by only 36 lakhs population, around 4 lakhs beneficiaries are unpaid of social pensions, triggers resentments and worrying the poor. However, across the country, the situations are same. The BJP before the election promised to give Rs. 2000 allowance to the beneficiaries but lots of people were served with notices whether they deserve social pension or not and many are not getting pensions.

The existing beneficiaries are also now in wait to get social pension in this January month and this irregularities is complained time to time.

The BJP before the election promised to give Rs. 2000 social allowance after coming in power. However. Only Rs. 300 was increased after 23 months of the Govt.

On the other hand, allegations of MGNREGA mandays scrapping are there, whereas, a top Congress leader alleged about only 15% MGNREGA mandays are given out of 100 days work-rights.

Along with MGNREGA works' massive downs under the ruling BJP Govt in Tripura, worklessness situations have hit the daily earners’ lives here. In the continuous economic survey almost all workers have alleged on camera that Govt is not giving them works and the previous Govt was much better.
