AGARTALA, Jan 29 (TIWN): High Court has dismissed writ petition of Tripura Govt on AGMC professors’ transfer in deputation to other subdivisional and primary hospitals.

High Court in a division bench of Chief Justice A A Kureshi, Justice Arindam Lodh has said that for unlimited period of times, the AGMC professors can not be transferred.

Earlier, on August 2019, Tripura High Court in a single bench hearing by Justice Subhashish Talalpatra had issued stay order on a circular of the Govt about transfer of Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC). It was said by lawyers against transfer by if the professors are transferred then other sub-division’s health service may be developed but it will badly affect the Medical College’s academic side. Later, the deputation of the professors was cancelled in the order of the High Court.

High Court issued stay order in the single bench order but in the final verdict on Monday, the Court has asked the State Govt to bring back the AGMC professors by February 2020
