AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): On the death anniversary of the 'Father of Indian Constitution', Dr B R Ambedkar and the black-day-of Babri mosque demolition, in a courageous statement, former Chief Minister of Tripura, CPI-M Politburo member Manik Sarkar on Friday blasted Supreme Court of India for its verdict in Ajodhya case. Manik Sarkar commented in a public gathering at Agartala city when country is fighting for ‘Save Constitution’, Supreme Court like institutions which should not have any connection with Politics have delivered a biased statement led by ex-Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi just before his retirement aimed to make happy ‘someone’. Taking each point mentioned in the verdict Manik Sarkar said, even after the verdict mentioned about illegal attack on the Mosques, it delivered such a judgement giving Muslims another plot whereas Muslims are not beggars and they just wanted this land where illegally a Hindu structure was made by Sanghis back in 1949. Manik Sarkar said, “All the cases which were filed in the Supreme Court, it was decided with all these, the final verdict will be given. The 5 justice bench finally held the ultimate judgement and directed Govt of India that the Ajodhya’s land where Babri mosque is standing and demolished in 1992 by Sangha family will be given for temple and another separate place to be given for mosque but for that verdict the Muslims bodies didn’t appeal in Court”.

“Centering the verdict, a mixed response came from across the Country. Before demolishing the Bari mosque, a tensed situation was created all across the country. Public were hoping a neutral judgement but the verdict is contradict to the beliefs of Democratic people. Most importantly, the base of our constitution which says on equality of all religions it did not match with the verdict of the Supreme Court at all”, said Manik Sarkar.

Manik Sarkar raised few points from the Ajodhya verdict to show how the verdict's inner materials are too contradictory to the ultimate judgement :

  1. In 1528 AC the mosque was built. Since, then Muslims continued their prayers in that mosque,
  2. After independence of India the Muslims could not pray due to disturbance of a section continuously at the mosque. Then the Muslim devotees started weekly prayers. But in 1949, 22nd December this mosque was added by a Hindu God’s idols and stopped Muslims to enter there.

Sarkar also mentioned in addition, “On that time (1949), SP of that District rushed to the DM seeing the increasing tensed situations at there telling him that the temperament is not towards good and asked him what to do. DM K K Nayar didn’t even bother to listen to the SP and thus this incident happened. But sadly, the same DM named K K Nayar got ticket of Jana Sangha and became MP in Lok Sabha. It makes clear the situation of the administrations of that time and the issue was always biased".

3) Supreme Court has termed 1949’s this incident (making Hindu idol inside mosque) as illegal,

4) Then in 1992 the attack on Babri mosque was too illegal,

Manik Sarkar said, “After 1949 there was a stay order in the land issues and in 1992 whoever indulged in demolishing the Babri mosque had violated the guidelines of the Supreme Court. SC in the verdict mentioned that part too. So, it’s proven the people who violated SC’s order were those who wanted to create Ram Mandir at the Babri Mosque".

Then Sarkar pointed, no Ramayana writer wrote about Ram’s birth place.

5) Supreme Court itself said that based on believes and faiths no decision can be taken,

6) Supreme Court also said if in 1992 this illegal demolition had not taken place nobody could know what left under the ground,

Manik Sarkar also said, those who surveyed the under-construction of the mosque, they had already a biased mindset who believed that Ram Mandir was there under the soil. It was not scientific, neither any standard rules of research.

7) Supreme Court also said, there was “something” existed before Babri Mosque's construction but what was that it could not be confirmed.

Manik Sarkar raised question, “How did then the Supreme Court give such a verdict ? How can Supreme Court direct Govt of India to form a Trust ? In our country Govt has no right to interfere in religious issues. Naturally, those who are logical, lover of Democracy could not get the verdict according to expectation. Where is our unity’s value today standing after 74 years of Independence ? Who will secure the secularism and democracy then if not Supreme Court ? Can Law work in this way ?”

“Supreme Court………………..where people will go ?”, Sarkar asked.
