AGARTALA, Nov 29 (TIWN): BJP's top criminals from Pragya Thakur to Tripura's Pratima Bhowmik continue malign Indian Democracy. As Malegaon blast accused BJP MP Prgya Thakur continued to be headstrong on her total apology, Congress here in Agartala has burnt Pragya Thakur’s effigy claiming there is no evidence against her for which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called her a terrorist. Youth Congress today burnt her effigy, demanded total apology and also requested PM Modi to terminate her from the party too. BJP MP Pragya Thakur took a second shot at an apology in the Lok Sabha over her remarks praising Nathuram Godse, this time reading out from one agreed to by all parties. Thakur’s first apology in the Lok Sabha was a conditional one in which she said that she too was called a ‘terrorist’ by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi though “there is no evidence against me”.

As the half-hearted apology triggered an uproar in opposition benches, the Speaker adjourned the house and called for a meeting with the floor leaders of all parties.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said he stood by his remarks on Twitter terming BJP MP Pragya Thakur a "terrorist" and was ready to face any action. He also claimed that Thakur believes in violence, the way Nathuram Godse did.

"Yes, I stand by my statement. What I have written on Twitter, I stand by it. Yes," he told reporters when asked if he stood by his statement calling Thakur a "terrorist".
Asked about BJP calling for action against him for his remarks, Gandhi said, "That's ok. There's no problem. Whatever they want to do, I'll welcome."
The Congress leader said what Thakur says what she believes in. "I don't agree with her, but she believes in it," Gandhi said.

“If anyone is hurt due to any of my statements, I apologise. But my point was misrepresented and misquoted. I was called a terrorist. There is no evidence against me,” she had said in her first reply in the Lok Sabha after Wednesday’s shocker.

Congress said the controversial MP was frequently making objectionable remarks on Mahatma Gandhi assassination. They said the Bhopal MP had also insulted the Mumbai 26/11 martyr IPS officer Hemanth Kharkare.

A day after Lok Sabha MP Pragya Singh Thakur made controversial remarks on Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin, Nathuram Godse, in Parliament, Congress-led opposition parties, as well as Janata Dal (United), or JD(U), an ally of the BJP turned up the heat on the ruling party on Thursday.

The BJP moved into damage control mode, by condemning her remarks, removing her from the consultative committee on defence, and barring her from attending its parliamentary party meeting in the ongoing winter session of Parliament.

The action against her was announced by BJP’s working president J.P. Nadda. “We are very clear about it that we condemn her statement and we do not support this ideology," Nadda, who was accompanied by Union parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi, told reporters.
