INPT gears up for Tripura ADC election, held meeting to decide on ‘alliance’ : IPFT rushing to Delhi for Tipraland

NEW DELHI, Nov 15 (TIWN): With the ADC election is close, regional parties along with national parties have geared up in the preparation for the upcoming election. All the political parties with own agendas are busy in meetings, decision making. INPT held a meeting today in Agartala with party leaders to discuss about the plans and programmes also agenda should be for the next election. Talking to TIWN, INPT President Bijay Hrankhawl said that all decision whether to align or not to be discussed in this meeting. On the other side, IPFT leaders are all set to stage a protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on December 2. Ahead of ADC Election, the ally of BJP that is IPFT party has announced Delhi abhiyan demanding Tipraland for the indigenous people with the ADC areas.Around 500 Tiprasa people who are IPFT members will travel to Delhi demanding Tipraland from the central govt. Earlier, INPT party was aligned with Congress but whether any change come as Royal scion Pradyot Manikya has quitted Congress it’s to be seen.

IPFT leader said, if Jammu and Kashmir can be divided with the Ladakh why not changes can not be brought in case of Tripura’s map ?

IPFT also expressed dissatisfaction over High Level committee’s function which failed to ensure the demands and needs of the Tiprasa.

The agitation will be staged on 2nd December at the Jantar Mantar of Delhi. 

Last Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council were held on 4 May 2015. 25 of the 28 elected seats in the Autonomous District Council are reserved for Scheduled Tribes. There were 638,060 eligible votes cast in the elections. The electoral turnout stood at 83%. The votes were counted on 6 May 2015 and the CPI-M came in power.
