BISHALGARH / AGARTALA, October31(TIWN): SDJM Bishalgarh Purander Prasad Pal sent Bimal Chakraborty to 14 days of jail custody. After five days of remand police produced scamstar Bimal Chakraborty before the SDJM Court and after hearing argument from defence and prosecution lawyers, SDJM sent Bimal to jail custody.

Earlier Bimal Chakraborty was sent to 5 days of police remand twice. However, if police wanted to interrogate Bimal , they can do it in jail with prior permission from the jail authorities. It is learnt that though police couldn't get anything precisely in that case. But a police official told TIWN," During the interrogation Bimal Chakraborty has mentioned  the names of one former DM and and a former SDM involved in the looting of Rs 50 crore MGNREGA fund. However, as of now see can't reveal the names as it may hamper investigation."

However general speculation is that,  Bimal's powerful brothers DYFI Secretary Amal Chakraborty, TSR Commandant Kamal Chakraborty, Prof  Shyamal Chakraborty and Godfather Manik will save him from this "misery" .
