KAMALPUR, Oct 31, (TIWN) : Scam-tainted DWS Kamalpur Division is passing a hard time in the very beginning of dry season, as the scarcity of drinking water prevails in different areas. And the money-happy Implementing Engineers of the division are busy searching excuses for the failure of the projects.

In the eve of Three tier Panchayat Election, the DWS Kamalpur Division in the direction of the party leaders set up three Mini Deep Tubewells in East Kuchainal under Kuchainala Panchayat’s wards 3 and 4. The local people however demanded for Mark- II tubewells instead of Mini Deep Tubewells.

But the DWS authority declined their demands and set up Mini Deep Tubewells. Now at the very beginning of the dry season the Mini Deep Tubewells become disordered. The water that came out is full of iron and filled with odour. As a result, the local people are now bound to use the impure water of Surmacharra, a rivulet. Due to the negligence of DWS, water-born diseases may break out at any moment.
