AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Sep 21 (TIWN): Campaigning for Tripura By-Election has been ended today and all political parties have finsihed their campaigning with full enthusiasm. While addressing, BJP Mohila Morcha President Papia Dutta said, “We (BJP) does not even think about winning or defeat. We know we will win but our aim will be how to make the Zamanat-Zabd of the opposition CPI-M and Congress”. On the other side, CPI-M and Congress both have warned BJP this time to stay away from any rigging attempt like previous elections or said the parties will fight back. However, amid these war or words by-election is knocking the doors which will be conducted on September 23 that is on Sunday. Tripura Congress leaders stated that this election’s victory for any political party will deliver a message about the situation of the country which is suffering from massive crisis, poverty and public are bearing heavy resentment against the ruling Govt.

The by-election for the 14-Badharghat Legislative Assembly constituency (SC) will be held on September 23, in the seat which had become vacant after the demise of BJP MLA Dilip Sarkar. Today was the last date of election campaigning. Along with Tripura, by-polls will be held for the Hamirpur seat in Uttar Pradesh, Dantewada in Chhattisgarh and Pala in Kerala on September 23. The counting of votes will be held on September 27.

Congress candidate is Ratan Das, CPI-M candidate is Bulti Biswas whereas ruling BJP has nominated Mimi Majumder as Badharghat by-election candidate. 

Tripura has witnessed massive election rigging in last 18 months. Now it is to be seen what happens in this election, which is being followed by the biggest rally of CPI-M held on September 16. The Congress also recently held a successful strike in the Unakoti District. Report said, opposition power has been strengthened in Tripura in compare to the 2018’s scenarios.
