KAILSAHAHAR, Sep 12 (TIWN): Tripura Congress on Thursday observed 24 hours strike at the Unakoti District protesting against BJP led Congress Party office vandalizing in Kailashahar. Since BJP Govt in power multiple Congress offices were burnt, vandalized and officially bulldozed. In August last week Kailashahar's main Congress office was severely vandalized, attacked by BJP and reacting over the political attack, the strike was called. Public responded hugely to the strike and almost all shops and private offices remained close. The Congress led by Birjit Sinha started picketing since morning, not allowing any office to open including Govt offices and the agitators burnt tires, blocked roads and also attacked an ambulance after seeing BJP backed Govt employees are misusing the vehicle. Few officials reportedly were inside an office since early morning to flop the strike, but Congress forced them to get out of the office. On being asked by media why the ambulance was attacked, Birjit Sinha said, it was attacked because it was misused by BJP’s pet few Govt officials "I don't support attack on ambulance, neither I support misuse of ambulance".

Congress also vandalized an Anganwadi centre, although Congress denied the charge.

Ahead of the strike, Birajit Sinha,  demanded immediate arrest of miscreants involved in the ransacking incident of the party office but so far nobody was arrested. So, the strike became violent.

So far nobody was injured but Birjit Sinha mocked at BJP saying not a single “Cowaa” (crow) of BJP was seen during strike.

“Yesterday they warned that they will attack us, but today all are escaped”, he added.

“Tripura’s law and order situation has totally collapsed. Murders, atrocities on women and crimes have taken an ugly shape within a short spell of time since the change of guard in Tripura last year. In this condition we have to fight back”, said Birjit Sinha.

Chandan Saha, SDPO Kailashahar said, the situation suddenly although went out of control but so far no unwanted incident happened. We have arrested the picketers.

Since 17 months of BJP Govt over thousands of houses were burnt, property damage crossed over 3000 and various political murders took place. Election turned a farce and no election BJP could win without rigging. Next there is a by-election on Sep-23 in the Badharghat constituency but this time opposition parties warned strictly BJP not to try for any disturbance in the booth areas.
