AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): BJP Govt’s popularity hit rock bottom as public protests continue across State against inhuman decision of scrapping free medical services in Hodpitals. Just like Manik Sarkar Govt’s Ego destroyed 10323 teachers’ future along with sinking the vessel of 25 years regime of the communist Govt, in the same way, BJP Govt is heading towards with its unpopular decisions expanding massive resentment against the State Govt. But even after ESMA like laws’ introductions there are increasing anti-incumbency and people started talking against the Govt openly now. Govt has not yet changed its decision of fee-imposition on Govt hospital patients even after much protests were staged across Tripura. On the other side, in a masterstroke, CPI-M backed ADC authority denied BJP Govt’s inhuman decisions imposition in the ADC areas like ESMA Law and Fee-Addition in Govt hospitals.

But power-hangover is so high that the ruling party not at all afraid of election-results as all the election by hook or crook, via rigging they have won. 

A single decision of the Govt by withdrawing the health-tariff hike notification could help the BJP party in this by-election, but so far Govt has not taken any action for damage repairing, which reflects the ego clash between ruling and the opposition centering this health service issue when only 13 days left for By-Election in Badharghat constituency.

Congress, CPI-M, regional partoes on yesterday organized various protest rallies in Tripura in different spots of the State demanding resuming of the previous Health Care service.

“We are not at all going to stop movement against BJP Govt’s inhuman, barbaric and historically shameful decision of scrapping free health care service in Government hospitals, also not going to tolerate BJP Govt’s Barbaric decision against People’s Rights in Health Service’, announced Congress leader Gopal Roy warning the BJP Govt after its inhuman decision of imposing fees on patients admitted in the Govt hospitals. Another Congress Women leader Panna Deb told the BJP Govt that these Govt hospitals are not anyone’s father’s property that it can be used for business. It is people’s right, built with people’s money. Congress leader Advocate Pijush Biswas stated that this decision is not just “inhuman” but also “violation” of Supreme Court’s guidelines. Another Congress leader, who is also Tripura BJP’s former Vice President Subal Bhowmik said, this decision also a part of massive scam which is collecting money from Central funded schemes. Congress President Pradyot Deb Barman demanded ‘All Party Meeting’ asking the BJP Govt to listen to the voice of the Opposition.

The No. F.1 (28)-DHS/GS/18 issued by Department of Health and Family Welfare on September 6 asked the consumers to pay Rs. 20 and Rs. 10 for registration in Out Patient Department (OPD) and Rs. 30 and Rs. 20 for admission in hospital beds respectively. The prices added ICU beds at Rs. 300 for Antodaya Annapurna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries, Rs. 300 for Priority Group consumers and at Rs. 600 for people above the poverty level per day. AC cabins in public hospitals would be charged at Rs. 700 daily. Food would be charged at Rs. 50 per day for APL consumers.
