AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): In a letter to Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture , Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Tripura Agriculture Dept’s passed out students have demanded recruitment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Tripura.

The letter was given by Rajib Das saying, “There are many vacancies left in Tripura's Krishi Vigyan Kendra ( Run by Dept of Agri. Tripura). As you know The Indian government , ICAR , ATARI gives money to run Krishi Vigyan Kendras. We know the recruitment of KVK Staff is the responsibility of the Host and not ICARATARI . Tripura Agriculture Dept. receives the appropriate money to run the Krishi Vigyan Kendra from Central Government(ICAR)”.

“In the last 25 years, despite repeated requests there has been no recruitment in KVKs in Tripura. Farmers are not getting any benefits because there is no permanent agricultural scientist in KVKs. KVKs are being run by some officers of Tripura Agriculture Department. If vacant positions are recruited it will create job opportunities of the unemployed and the farmers will be benefited. We are helpless and you are the hope who shows the path for young India. Therefore, it would be very kind of you, if you look at this very matter and help us in solving this issue”, Rajib Das told the Union Minister.
