DHARMANAGAR (North Tripura), Aug 17 (TIWN): In another major drive of Tripura Police under Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s ‘Nesha Mukt’ Tripura vision has received another success in a drive of Dharmanagar Police under SP Bhanupada Chakraborty. Via secret intelligence reports, North SP Bhanupada Chakraborty was informed about massive storage of contrabands in a house in the Rajbari area and following the report the whole operation was done. Police have seized at least 10000 prohibited ya-ba tablets, huge numbers of Chorex and other contrabands amounting Rs. 50 lakhs, a big amount. SP Bhanupada Chakraborty told media that via narcotic networks such drug mafias have lifted their lifestyles abnormally. He said, all the culprits could not be arrested but police will catch all of them soon. This raid was done after the SP was informed via secret sources about the storage of contrabands in the house.

This has been another major success in the success-list of Tripura Police, which has been published with all details in today’s morning news. Two drug smugglers named Sanjib Kaoyar and Nirmal Kaloyar residents of Motorstand area in Rajbari under Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar police said that 10000 ya-ba tablets, 150 Drugs boxes and Chorex, liquor at huge amounts have been seized. The worth of the seized items at average Rs. 50 lakhs.

Nesha-Mukt Tripura a concept is undergoing various pressures from politically powered drug-mafias but according to the order given to the police directly by the CM there should not be any mercy with any drug-peddler. Police led by I/C-DGP have also burnt lakhs of kilograms ganja and other contrabands before media at least twice by 2019.

Tripura has a bad-name for being the corridor of drug-smuggling misusing the borders with Bangladesh and now the Myanmar rooted ya-ba tablets have become another challenge for the police and seizer of ya-ba tablets are also going everyday.

According to the last report around 86,000 kg of ganja’s seizing was successfully done in last 16 months of the new Government and it started under I/C DGP Rajiv Singh’s observation and assisted by various SPs and police officers District-wise. Also a major competitions are going on in ganja-seizing across police stations in a positive wave and hence creating hurdles for powerful ganja smugglers who have turned the state Tripura as the Northeast corridor for smuggling taking the opportunities of border areas.

However, ground reality says, these seizers are not even 10% of the drug-flowing in the state, will never be ended unless politically powered drug-mafias are arrested by police, just like BJP MLA Surajit Dutta had alleged BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik's nexus with drug empire via Agartala bases smugglers. Neither the MLA did any apology for that nor Bhomwik bothered to react on his allegation. In the same way, Tripura has drug-mafias in various branches.

Along with Police, BSF, Assam rifles, RPF, TSR have also joined hands to slash the drug-mafia-networking.
