AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): Under the MHRD guidelines of "One Student One Tree" Scheme Tripura University has planted a large number of trees including medicinal plants in three places in the campus which includes an extended campus in the Suryamaninagar. In this plantation program, students from almost all the departments and NSS group of students have participated and despite rainy day, the program was successful.
The plantation drive was led by Prof. V. L. Dharurkar, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sukanta Banik, Registrar (i/c), Prof. C. B. Majumder, Dean (Arts & Commerce), Dr. Alak Bhattacharjee, CDC, Dr. Indraneel Bhowmik, DSW, Dr. Arobindo Mahato and others. This One Student One Tree plantation drive will continue in the next week also and more trees will be planted in the campus to implement the MHRD policy of green campus in letter and spirit and altogether around 2500 trees will be planted after this drive is over.
