AGARTALA,October 24 (TIWN): The much talked surrender of Rs 17 crore MGNREGA scamster Bimal Chakraborty has once again put the Tripura Police in a state of utter shame. A vast majority of the top level police officials are now learnt to be angry with the Melarmath especially those in the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's lobby. A top level police official told TIWN over phone on Friday afternoon," This incident has again damaged the moral of Tripura Police, especially the honest officials. Bishalgarh police is now being severely criticised but who will think that police could not do anything as Home Ministry sent clear instruction not to arrest suspended Dy Director Bimal Chakraborty. Police had specific information about Bimal's hideout but as Bimal's influence in the political field is huge, lower police officials did not dare to touch him."Indeed, widespread resentment now prevailing among a large section of CPI(M) party members and those in the party's Think Tank.

 A top level Melarnath leader told TIWN," Entire issue has done serious damage to the party. All know that Bimal Chakraborty is one of most faithful officials of Manik Sarkar and State govt. Even when he was BDO Melaghar serious allegations were raised against him  but then no one could utter a word against him as Chief Minister was guarding him. Moreover, he is the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty, who too is known to be in CM lobby. Quite naturally Bimal avoided all allegations raised against him simply due to the blessings of his 'Manikda'." 
        Interestingly Manik Sarkar often lectures whenever the chance comes and in his lectures he urges people to to lodge complain against anybody - official or party leader- if he/she is involved in illegal activities. But it is he ,' Mr White' who suppressed the IAR that found massive MGNREGA scam and simply due to the fact that the corrupt official is his 'disciple'. "A Guru can't punish his disciple but only guard him against any kind of evil force," said a senior party leader. Indeed CPI(M) party is now clearly divided on Bimal issue. And realising this party secretary Bijan Dhar is learnt to have instructed all state leaders 'not to comment anything on this'. 
          However, it is now all clear that Chief Minister's lobby of Melarmath produced the 'Surrender Drama' and Bhanu Lal played the role of Drama Director in the entire episode. It is indeed, shameful that a man who is the so called ' Preacher of Honesty' has been the ' Friend, Philosopher and Guide' of a corrupt official. 
       Meanwhile, another question is now raised as the the suspension order of Bimal Chakraborty  has been officially handed over  to  Bishalgarh Police station from the  GA(P&T)  section on today evening at 5pm. The order has been officially handed over only this evening.

A top level state official  told TIWN," The order has been prepared today. The earlier statement on the said suspension made by Additional Secretary R P Datta was a false one but his signature was dated earlier. "  However, Bishalgarh  police refused to say anything about the order.

Like any other scams in other parts of India, Tripura's morally corrupt CM will try to shield his accomplices for some time, but sooner or later all scams will trap the kingpin. Veteran communist leaders like Nripen Chakraborty, Dasharath Deb dedicated their life to build CPIM party over past decades in Tripura, which in fact is the sole reason behind Manik's Chief Minister crown. But now a corrupt CM single-handedly destroying CPIM Party in Tripura beyond repair.  If Manik Sarkar had 1% of honesty left in his character, he would have thrown out corrupt Bhanu, Bimal and his brothers but that is highly unexpected from a most corrupt CM in Tripura's history,
