AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): Tripura Government might have decided to stop teachers’ recruitment also as visible from Education Minister’s JUMLA claim of “Enough School Teachers†in Tripura. However, on August 2nd also after Supreme Court’s hearing on 10323 teachers issue and teachers recruitment, Ratanlal Nath told media about teachers’ crisis in Tripura and also the Govt told Supreme Court and Central Govt the same. Also while seeking ad-hoc extension of 10323 teachers, Tripura Govt told Supreme Court about teachers’ crisis. The double standard statement came from Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath. When in Supreme Court and to the Central Govt, Tripura Govt said that there are massive teachers’ crisis in Tripura schools but today Nath said the opposite while addressing in a review meeting with teachers. What he wanted to mean is that the teachers must give their best efforts to increase the passing rates in Tripura schools.
He also said 90% teachers do not give their best efforts, raised question why teachers’ children pass in Madhyamik but not their all students ?
Tripura has 1141 TET qualified, B.Ed holders. Nath said, Colleges have little crisis and Govt is taking action for that.
Earlier Ratanlal Nath said he can recruit 14000 teachers right now but there are lack of enough qualified candidates.
Numbers of qualified TET passed, B.Ed holders are now 1141 who are roaming jobless. But in a strange connotation, Govt of Tripura has arranged special relaxation for B.Ed which has raised eyebrows. Tripura has over 5000 B.Ed holders whereas according to Education Minister Ratanlal Nath’s claim around 14000 teaching posts are vacant, but due to lack of eligible candidates Govt is unable to fill up the vacant posts but instead of appointing B.Ed holder TET passed teachers first Education Dept is hurrying for relaxation in B.Ed which is quite contradictory and against the interest of Quality Education when in reality there are B.Ed holders available in the state and more than thousands among them are TET qualified.
TIWN has been informed that in the year 2018 , TRBT conducted two times TET exam. First one in the month of September , known as 2018 Session 1 TET exam and in that exam total 791 candidate qualified (TET 1-354 & TET 2-437).And the Second exam conducted in the month of December , know as 2018 Session 2 Tet exam and in that exam total 350 candidate are qualified ( TET 1 -128 & Tet 2- 222 )
