AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): 10323 teachers has announced to meet Party President cum Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Deb reminding BJP led pre-poll promises given to them. Directly mentioning about Vision Document, teachers today told media that they want the BJP Govt must start acting on the given promise and to ensure their lives, but how BJP Govt will do that it is the biggest question as the teachers were terminated by Supreme Court of India due to irregularities in the recruitment process. However, the teachers are still in job on ad-hoc basis and Supreme Court has made it clear that no acceptance on this job-extension plea will be in future and in 2020 teachers to end their service. Thus the pre-poll promise is now turning heavy on the BJP Govt.According to Vision Document terminated 10323 teachers was to give permanent solution of their problems by the BJP Govt after assuming power. Earlier, by mistake once a Minister said that Govt managed B.Ed relaxation for 10323 teachers.

Supreme Court had terminated the 10323 teachers spotting irregularities in their recruitment in 2017 whereas BJP got the supports from the teachers after promising once BJP will come in power, the Govt would assure their jobs permanently.

In January, 2019, the teachers held a big protest and today ‘dharna’ was staged at Agatala raising demands of 1) “Save my Job, Save my Family”, 2) “We want our Job continuation”, 4) We want Justice”. The teachers have announced to stage a big protest at Jantar Mantar if the Govt through cabinet meeting doesn’t come to any conclusion about their future.“We are tensed. We demand Govt should take an immediate decision to save our lives.

Now, after a long pause, the teachers are once again going for massive movement. Their programmes will be one meeting the CM and another is at the Secretariat.

Supreme Court in 2018 on Govt’s appeal, extended those teachers jobs for 17 months as Tripura schools are suffering from teachers’ crisis.

The 10323 teachers fist lost their jobs in High Court’s verdict in 2014 due to illegal processes followed in the recruitment under Communist regime. Then the previous CPI-M led State Sovt managed stay order on High Court’s order by appealing Supreme Court and after much delays in the hearings, finally Supreme Court also in 2017, March 29 terminated all the teachers but with humanitarian view Supreme Court permitted all the 10323 teachers to continue their jobs till December 31st, 2017.

BJP Govt urged Supreme Court to extend those teachers jobs till 2020, 30th June and SC also extended for 17 months to control the teachers crisis.
