Tripura advocate murder  case investigation delays : Resented Lawyers write to DGP, demand CID probe

AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): Tripura Lawyers under “Lawyers’ for Democracy” have met DGP Rajiv Singh today demanding faster investigation in killed lawyer Late Pradip Modok murder case who was killed on 29th November, 2018.

In a deputation placed before the DGP, the “Lawyers’ for Democracy” stated, “A practicing member of Tripura Bar Association Pradip Modok was murdered at night at his own residence at Abhoynagar on 29-11-2018. After the said incident, police of East Agartala registered a case vide East Agartala PS Cas No-110 of 2018 U/S of IPC and started investigation. But the police has not been able to net the actual culprits”.

“The sequence shows that the investigation agency is not prompt in acting”.

“Already 6 months, 14 days have elapsed and till date the investigation is in blind alley. We regret that we are left with no other option but to express our dissatisfaction with the investigation. So our demand is to transfer the investigation of the aforesaid case to CID, Crime Branch, Tripura”, said the Lawyers to the DGP.

“We demand effective and fair investigation of the murder of advocate Pradip Modok to nab the culprits and to ensure their punishment”, they said.

“Lawyers’ for Democracy” was represented by Advocates Purushottom Roy Barman, Bhaskar Debbarma, Manish Bhattacharjee, Tapan Saha, Koushik Indu, Mallika Saha (Deb), Shanta Biswas.
