NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): Tripura’s Law & Order dived rock bottom under the domination of Biplab-Pratima led criminal gangs. In such a small populated state, murder episodes have remained as day to day incidents, raising a serious question on the law and order situation of the state. According to police report at least 40 murders took place from January 2019 to April 2019, which means 10 murders at an average in one month. In 2018 total 137 murders took place which includes mob-lynching of innocent people. Police report also has revealed that total 371 theft cases, kidnapping 166 and rioting 255 in numbers across 2018. A brutal murder was reported at Melaghar, Tripura today morning creating panic across Melaghar’s Sib Nagar area. The deceased has been identified as Sankar Ghosh (25).

Sankar was hard-working youth, unattached from any controversy and politics. Today a case was filed against BJP’s ally IPFT party’s MLA in rape-allegation. BJP on the other side, has continued its internal clashes, leading massive suffering for common men. Also fights between BJP/IPFT are a common practice in Tripura.

In last 1 year, at least 7 opposition CPI-M leaders were “killed” in the state.

After Women Congress gheraoed CM’s quarter over increasing crime against women, BJP set its top corrupt and criminal leader Pratima Bhowmik to stage a protest against Women Congress’s protest.

Pratima Bhowmik is BJP’s MP candidate who recently came in media limelight after she threatened an IPS officer to be murdered on spot. But, no FIR or action was taken against Pratima Bhowmik after her comment.

At the same time, there are severe attacks on media, journalists and even opposition. The last month’s ending Tripura saw arrests of journalists illegally, attack on BJP former IT cell head, a young boy with fabricated case and burning his house by unknown miscreants after police could not trace him.

Election rigging has recently manifested BJP’s crime empire which hit national media headlines and EC was bound to announce re-poll in 168 booths.

With a shocking report, it has been revealed that at least 255 rioting cases were filed in police stations across Tripura in 2018 a drastically hike than the previous years. The rioting cases numbers which were lodged are : Year 2014 : 94 cases, Year 2015 : 76 cases, Year 2016: 78 cases : Year 2017 : 124 cases, Year 2018 : 255 cases and in 2019 from January to April total 57 cases were registered.A sharp hike indeed from 2017 onwards.
