AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): Jokes of administration spikes up under “motormouth†Chief Minister Biplab Deb as massive police harassment, cases, FIRs are being lodged on baseless ground for sharing news items whereas various national media which first published the news regarding Tripura CM’s mutual divorce case filed in a court at Delhi and still strict to their news-content, Biplab Deb didn’t order any case against those papers. DIG Arindam Nath has called Tripura Congress’s Vice President Tapas Dey after an FIR was lodged against Tapas Dey after he shared few news items published in national media about ongoing divorce of CM. While interrogating, Tapas Dey asked DIG Arindam Nath, why doesn’t he file case against all hawkers who are selling newspapers to people.
Tapas Dey also told him, just like hawker distribute papers, he also circulated the news in social media, also forwarded many news published in various media. When Arindam Nath asked him who are the friends to whom Tapas Dey forwarded his message, Tapas Dey told him that he will not tell him their names and secrecy is his right until law orders.
Tapas Dey also said, sharing news is each citizen’s right.
On April 28, Tripura's journalist Saikat Talapatra was arresred after he posted an attack on facebook without taking anyone's name.
Many similar fabricated cases have been lodged against many people, whereas Biplab Deb could not file case against national media which had published news about CM's divorce case.
