Violent, Verbal attack by BJP’s Yuva Morcha in CPI-M Women cell’s rally

AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): With another shocking incident, BJP Youth wing which was earlier involved in attacking former CM Manik Sarkar, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das and slapping former Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha, this time they have attacked on the women’s wing of CPI-M Nari Samiti when they were holding a meeting with party workers in form of gathering under police protection.

In a meeting organized by Nari Samiti at Amtali in demand of more MGNREGA works, wage and social pension hike, a group of BJP miscreants attacked on them and continued to defame them with slang words. Police were unbale to control the group of ruling party hooligans.

One Nargis Begum who was returning home after the incident was attacked by the BJP workers again and on that time they (BJP) stretched her from the auto and with slang words they threatened her.

Holding a press conference, CPI-M Nari Samiti leader, MP Jharna Das said, such brutal attack on women never happened in Tripura like this. Police and media, all were there.

“BJP Govt has failed to fulfil a single promise. Statewide workless condition, job-less situation have hit the people. In this condition opposition people are unable to protest, to go to the people. For how many days such things should be continued ?”, she said.

Another leader Rama Das said, “In CPI-M era ofcourse attack on women happened, but each incident was inquired. Moreover, in rallies, meetings, broad-day-light such open attacks were never seen earlier by ruling party hooligans. The words they used against us, it’s unthinkable and can’t be uttered before media. There is no democracy in state anymore, this is for sure”.
