AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in Tripura on the verge of abolition under BJP led State Govt, as with another ‘shock’ for the unemployed youths, Tripura Govt has stopped the TET exam for an uncertain period of time. Also the upcoming TET Exam which was scheduled to be held on February 24 has been cancelled. In a notification, dated 11.2.2019, Controller of the Examination, TET-Tripura informed, “Referring to our Examination No-5-2018, dated 7-12-2018 and information vide No.F.2 (1-18) GEN/TRBT/REC/2018-19/311 & information vide No.F.2 (1-18) GEN/TRBT/REC/2018-19-312, dated 7-12-2018 is being informed to all concerned that recruitment process of all Graduate Teachers (IX-X) and Post Graduate Teachers (XI-XII) is kept in abeyance until further order”. It has shocked the job aspirants on last night who were preparing for the TET examination. The notification further added, “As such the selection test for graduate teachers (STGT) 2019 and selection test for post graduate teachers (STPGT) 2019 will not be held on 24.2.2019. This is in pursuant to communication vide. No-F1 (1-46)-SE/E/ (NG)/ 2018-L2 dated 11/2/2019 of the Director of Secondary Education, Education School Dept, Govt of Tripura”.

It has erupted huge resentment among the job aspirants. Around 7000 ongoing and passed out B.Ed candidates are here in Tripura.

Going against the will of the B.Ed holders, Tripura Govt earlier had managed an order of “Relaxation” in B.Ed for teachers recruitment and propagated with drums, but now affecting above 3000 vacant posts the TET exam has been stopped for an uncertain period of time.

Earlier, before the Election BJP had promised to fill up 50000 vacant posts under State Govt Depts. Right now Tripura tops in unemployment with record breaking percentage of 30.9%.
