New Delhi / Agartala, Feb 11 (TIWN): Budget 2019-20 was passed in the Lok Sabha amid storms of protests, followed by the opposition parties one after one had walked out of the house. Tripura CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury today in the Parliament has pulled Modi’s Govt’s leg for placing a budget like in the emergency situation, allegedly breaking all the protocols. Addressing at the Parliament, the MP in the budget debate said, at the edge of danger no Govt has right to place budget like this, but BJP Govt breaking all the protocols have done this, which is totally violation of the ethics, comparing Piyush Goal as the interim batsman of a cricket match who was allowed to play the last overs but started like an opening batsman moving the whole country again towards another wrong direction of wrong economic policy. “For own benefit and to hide the failure, the Modi Govt in last 5 years have destroyed all the data and information and to fool the public new data were created where NSSO, NSC like institutions were abolished. The popular resources were stopped which were actually benefiting the people for long”, said Jitendra Chaudhury at the Parliament.

“Centering the election ahead, the Govt has targeted 51 crores of voters under 30 years age and sweet talks were told for them. However, as there was no fresh offer and nothing for unemployed youths, so the Finance Minister didn’t mention the Acche-Din dialogue. NSSO data says that in last 4 decades such low work-projects weren’t experienced. 25 years to 29 years youths are highest suffering form unemployment in compare to the year 2011-12. The rate of unemployment from 25-29 years have been tripled. Earlier the rate of male youths were 5% and now it’s 17.8%. The female-unemployed in 2011-12 were 4.8% and now 13.6%”, Chaudhury told the house. 

“In 2018, 1 crore 10 lakh people have lost their jobs. 24 lakhs vacant posts left unfilled. Medium and small scale businessmen are undergoing massive losses”, he pointed. 

“Loan waiver was promised, but now the Govt is working in the opposite direction. Farmers are not getting proper aids, whereas the corporate are making money under NDA Govt”, alleged the MP from Tripura.

Jitendra Chaudhury also said, 2 hector’s less landowners will get 6000 per year was under huge propaganda but actually it was an insult to the farmers. How a family can be ranked monthly 15 rupees rate and also there was nothing about the landless people.This budget was further slammed by Chaudhury as anti-ST, anti-SC.

Jitendra Chaudhury also said that for women nothing was done by the Govt and maximum budget for women was spent for ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ advertisements. Nirvaya’s project funding was slashed.

“Even though for Tin Talak issue, the Govt shed crocodile-tears for the Muslim women but in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattishgrah, already people have given Talak to the BJP Govt”, he said.

Jitendra Chaudhury then engaged in massive criticism of the Govt for MGNREGA mandays slashing.

He said, “In the budget 61,000 crores was shown for MGNREGA which is less than last years budget. At the same time, down of rupees value, price hike have hit the country”.

Chuadhury also said that this budget is anti-people and then the oppositions walked out as Piyush Goyal couldn’t answer oppositions’ queries and in empty-opposition house the budget was passed.
