BAGMA (Udaipur, Tripura), Feb 11 (TIWN): Day after former CPI-M Finance Minister Badal Choudhury was attacked at Belonia in South Tripura on Sunday afternoon, on Monday morning one more former Minister faced the similar attack at Bagma in Udaipur. This time the attack took place on MLA Ratan Bhwomik, former Tourism Minister of the Left Govt when he visited Bagma area to check the damaged houses and met the family members who were attacked on yesterday night. Many families were attacked on yesterday night, their houses were vandalized by BJP goons at Bagma. Following the deadly nightmare incidents, when in the morning Ratan Bhowmik visited Bagma on that time he was attacked and also beaten with sticks by a bunch of BJP local goons. Later police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation but it was already late. Addressing media, Ratan Bhowmik said, “Huge numbers of BJP goons attacked us during the visit".

"They first attacked me with thick sticks and our activist Manik Shome was attacked brutally. The attackers shouted, why you have come to Bagma ? You can not visit here anymore. They came after us and broke my car”, Bhowmik told media. 

Slamming PM Modi for his Astabal rally’s speech and claim of Tripura undergoing peaceful situation, Ratan Bhowmik told media, “PM Modi said, Tripura is undergoing peaceful situation, nobody is attacked anymore here, but this is the example of so called "peaceful condition" of Tripura. On yesterday our MP, former Minister and leaders were attacked at Belonia. We demand police should arrest the culprits immediately”. 

Holding a press conference, former Minister Badal Choudhury confirmed that few CPI-M leaders were hospitalized in critical condition. CPI-M demanded immediate action against hooligans of BJP.
