AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): With a major setback for IPFT, Congress leader Pradyot Manikya, being also the inheritor of Royal dynasty, has first ever slammed IPFT leaders of the state holding Ministry, came with fake promises of Tipraland and now silent on failure of Home Ministry led by Biplab Deb Govt. Pradyot Manikya raised question, whereas everything is clear who were behind Jirania incident, still IPFT being in alliance with BJP is silent against Govt’s silent to the demand of Judicial investigation, whereas Magisterial investigation is for namesake. All political parties including BJP’s ally IPFT have demanded Judicial inquiry in Jirania Police violence of January 8, 2019 but Govt has however ordered Magisterial inquiry in the case. Even after two viral videos which proves that only police and ruling party supporters led the whole violence, Biplab Deb led Govt has not ordered Judicial investigation. Magisterial investigation has been said even by common men as means of “Eye Wash”. Today, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar had visited Madhabbari firing incident whereas the existing Chief Minister Biplab Deb yet to visit the spot.Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said West Tripura District Magistrate Sandeep Mahatme would inquire into the January 8 incidents and submit a report "within the shortest possible time."

On January 11, NESO (North East Student Organization) members also visited Triura, under whose call on January 8 the strike was observed against Citizenship Bill, but they were not allowed to meet the victims of police firing and NESO has called for “Judicial Investigation” under a sitting judge from the High Court. But so far Govt has only ordered for Magisterial probe and West DM Sandeep Mahatme to investigate the case. The BJP-led Tripura government on Thursday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the police firing on Tuesday injuring six tribal youths, agitating against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. But all opposition parties including BJP’s ally IPFT have demanded Judicial investigation whereas one demanded CBI probe.

"After getting the report, the government would take appropriate steps and the guilty would not be spared," Deb told the media before leaving for New Delhi to attend the national council meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party.Deb, who also holds the home portfolio, said the state government would bear the expenditure of the treatment of the injured youths.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Rajiv Singh said: "Some tribal youths while demonstrating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill turned violent at Madhab Bari in western Tripura on Tuesday. The police, Tripura State Rifles and CRPF troopers, after taking all necessary steps were unable to control the mob. The police then opened fire injuring six tribal youths, two of them seriously."

On January 10, addressing media sharing dais with NC Debbarma Biplab Deb said, “Since Kings era, lakhs of non-tribals came here and Tripura Kings also supported them. According to Citizenship Bill Hindus, Christians, Jains, Buddhists will be welcomed with citizenship. After partisan of India those helpless people came in India and giving shelter to them is moral”. Talking about the Jirania violence, Biplab Deb almost gave certificate to police saying that police had fired below knee and one Sumit Debbarma who was injured his case is also no way can be said police fired him on his shoulder intentionally. However, we have ordered for Magisterial Investigation in this case and within minimum time the inquiry to be completed”.
