SABROOM, Dec 29 (TIWN): Reacting over BJP’s day-night attacks on CPI-M and other opposition party supporters in Tripura, MP Jitendra Chaudhury raised question before the Govt whether Tripura belongs to India or it’s under Arab, Iraq or Syria ? Jitendra Chaudhury was addressing at Satchand Block in Sabroom followed by a mass deputation, said, “What type of democracy is this where oppositions will have to face ruling party’s attacks everytime ? Since last 3-4 days BJP’s continuous threats are going on. No rally, meeting of opposition are allowed, vehicles are not allowed to ply which will carry opposition supporters. Which democracy it is ? Which constitution it is ? Does Tripura belong to Indian constitution or it comes under countries like Arab, Iraq, Syria where wars are going, no law is there. Today democracy, constitution, people’s rights are under danger in Tripura”. Jitendra Chaudhury further called people to come forward to save Tripura, save Democracy.Hitting the BJP Govt on the basis of continuous attacks on opposition leaders and activists, Chaudhury said, “If Democracy doesn’t exist then, it will be bad for all. Today if my house is burnt, tomorrow your house will be burnt, which will be not good for you too. On that time, peace will be for nobody”.

Further reminding BJP’s tall pre-poll promises, Jitendra Chaudhury said, “Before the election, they said Rs. 340 will be the minimum wage, house to house jobs will be given. Where is that wage ? Where is that work ?”

“BJP illegally snatched Panchayat seats, Municipal seats, attacking party offices in broad day light. In front of police and Govt officials CPI-M elected members are attacked. Senior leaders, State General Secretary, former Ministers are not even left spared. Day-night, anytime the ruling party is busy to attack the people, just because they belong to CPI-M”, Chaudhury added.

“Don’t look at the size of our rally, but don’t forget CPI-M has massive support of common men and in coming days rallies too will be bigger. We have taken oath to restore democracy”, he said.
