Don't join US war against ISIS: CPI-M

New Delhi, September 30 (TIWN / IANS): In another sign of paralysis and lack of practical thinking, The CPI-M on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to join any unilateral American war against the ISIS, the Sunni insurgent group that now controls a vast territory."The Obama administration has been putting great pressure on India of late to join a US-led coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria," the Communist Party of India-Marxist said."It may take advantage of Modi's presence in New York ... to make India fall in line with its plans. The (Indian) government must, under no circumstances, fall prey to these machinations. "It must never join any unilateral US initiative of this sort, no matter how strongly such an initiative is portrayed as defending 'humanity' against 'the forces of barbarism'."Any international response to the ISIS must have the sanction of the UN, without which it carries no legitimacy."

Now, someone from crowd need to remind the octogenarian generaton of CPIM leadership that they need to study the current affairs, threats, geo-politics of world and fight against the common enemy of humanity, which is Islamic Terrorism by ISIS, Al-Qaeda etc. Those days of tape recorder slogans like Centre's step motherly treatment or capitalist America's misdeeds are gone - now common man wants to see development, economic growth, good governance - common people are not interested in any political party's ideology or their propagandas.

In these days of Internet Age and 21st century Tech Savvy generation, not even a single person in top leadership of CPIM has any clue about technological developments around the world.

Seven decades after undivided Indian communists denounced Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as an "imperialist agent" and "Tojo's dog" (after Japanese Prime Minister Hediki Tojo), CPI general secretary A B Bardhan admitted at a function on April 5, 2010 that it was a "mistake on the part of the undivided Communist Party of India not to have recognised Netaji's indomitable spirit of patriotism". He added: "I have no hesitation in apologising for this lapse." However, CPM general secretary Prakash Karat, who was also present at the function, ignored Bardhan's reference to the "undivided" party's view of Netaji. While he paid rich tributes to Bose, he did not make any reference to the historical "mistake".
