AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): In front of Congress Bhawan in Agartala, Congress leaders, activists started massive celebrations after 9 months of suffocating-era under BJP’s dictatorship. The party is having celebration in Tripura to mark a political victory as Congress is leading BJP ruled states on Tuesday Assembly Election results. However the Madhyapradesh is becoming critical for the Congress and high competitions are going on at that state but Congress almost swept Rajasthan and Chattishgarh. Youth Congress, NSUI led by senior Congress leaders and the Party President Birjit Sinha burnt fire crackers, played holi to mark the possible victory at the state Congress Headquarter. In last 9 months Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s gaffe, General Secretary Prima Bhowmik led crimes, attacks upon opposition parties had been rattled the party. The Congress in Tripura saw the worst consequences with attacks, party offices massive bulldozing. However, with the ongoing victory of Congress, possibilities are high that BJP to divide in Tripura and may form a Congress-aligned Govt.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh resigned on Tuesday taking moral responsibility for the BJP's stunning defeat in Assembly elections. He told the media that he had sent his resignation to the Governor."I take moral responsibility for the defeat," Raman Singh, who was Chief Minister for 15 years, said as it became clear that the Congress was headed for a thumping victory in the 90-member Assembly. He said he would continue to serve the state while in the opposition ranks.

With counting beginning at 8 am today, the Congress managed to secure a clear majority in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh while the BJP gave it a tough fight in Madhya Pradesh. In Telangana, the TRS led by K Chandrashekar Rao stormed back to power while in Mizoram, the MNF came back to power after two terms of Congress rule.

The outcome of the polls to the five states — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram — will be a test of the electoral strategy of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who assumed office in December last year, and the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The results will also have a bearing on efforts to forge opposition unity for the 2019 elections and if the Congress will emerge as the natural leader of the anti-BJP front.
