AGARTALA, Nov 21 (TIWN): Tripura High Court in a notice CBI has asked to start Chit Fund cases' investigation in the state within four weeks or CBI chief will be summoned in the Court. High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Karol while also expressed concern to the delay in investigation which looted lakhs of people's money from this tiny state. In CPI-M Govt's time Rose Valley and many other chit fund companies spread their networks in the state which not only looted public money, but also maximum managed to escape after chit fund scams were busted across nation but on the request of previous Left Govt CBI only took 5 cases in hand on that time. Now it has been known through High Court sources that CBI yet to start investigation in Chit Fund cases. After the Govt was changed and BJP came in power, according to Vision Document's promise, total 74 cases were handedover to CBI, but as no development has come, a petition was filed in High Court and Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman and Samrjit Bhowmik brought case under High Court's observation.
On April 29, BJP Govt had handedover 74 chit fund cases to CBI. Chief Minister Biplab Deb addressing a press conference in his official residence on that time said, "Among the 74 cases, 11 cases including Rose Valley chit fund scam were handed over to CBI long back and now rest of the cases have also been given to CBI for proper investigation".
But CBI never fasten the investigation, rather they talked to two Ex-Ministers as Bijita Nath and Badal Choudhury and it came in huge media limelight. But now, High Court said, CBI yet to begin investigation in chit fund cases.
BJP Govt also handed over two journalists murder cases to the CBI whereas in those cases also no development has come yet.
