AGARTALA, Nov 21 (TIWN): Biplab Deb and his bootlicker BJP Journalists like Biswendu Bhattacharjee exploited dual Journalist murders to enjoy BJP sponsored New Delhi trips to meet President to various self-promotion schemes only to make quick bucks but these same shameless Journalists failed to pressurize Biplab Deb to expedite CBI investigation to punish real culprits. A year back on this day which is just after 62nd day after Din Raat TV channel young journalist Santanu Bhowmik was killed, Sudip Datta Bhoumik was killed brutally in the TSR 2nd Bn HQ in Agartala. He was second journalist was killed in poll bound Tripura before a year. Bhoumik was writing against police’s corruption allegedly was killed by a police officer of the Tripura State Rifles Tapan Debbarma along with other police officials during an altercation. After the murder of Sudip Datta Bhoumik, the then Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy said, “I will the end of it ! Sudip Datta Bhoumik’s murder is more dangerous than Santanu Bhoumik’s murder. He was killed inside the TSR camp itself. This dangerous for democracyâ€.
Centering both the slain journalists Santanu Bhowmik, Sudip Datta Bhowmik, BJP aligned state journalists like Pranab Sarkar, Biswendu Bhattacharjee met President of India Ram Nath Kovind at Delhi demanding CBI investigations in both journalists' murders. After Election the cases were handed over to BJP by Chief Minister Biplab Deb.But unfortunately, Tripura journalists were never seen on road to protest for so called "Justice". In case of Santanu murder case, CBI is totally silent since over 300 IPFT activists including on of its MLA came in CBI diary.
Indeed, there is no hurry / anger among journalists of Tripura to ask BJP Govt to push CBI for faster investigation. However, on November 21st on the first death anniversary of Sudip Datta Bhoumik candles to be lighted, fake tears to come down till cheeks and speeches will be heard but with a major shame for independent Journalism-Policy, Tripura media world controlled by BJP backed journalists have stopped protesting for "faster CBI investigation".
