AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): MP Jitendra Choudhury has pinched the BJP Govt for its crossing of deadline before making Tripura a model state.
“We often hear from BJP leaders that model state will be formed within next 3 years. However, 7 months have gone out of 36 months and only 29 days left”, Jiten Choudhury said.
“Model state doesn’t mean only making few buildings, but to keep the pace and development constant is a major challenge. In our state since BJP-IPFT Govt came above 3500 leaders were bound to reigned and then the polls went on uncontested”
“Today 3-layer panchayat election held in Satchand block violating all codes of conduct of Election Commission. On yesterday suddenly BJP candidates name were announced as Panchayat chairperson”, he said.
“As CPI-M is majority till now on the basis of public support, BJP continues attacks upon CPI-M. The election forced people to vote for BJP. Indeed, the election was totally like a party rally full of BJP supporters. At Sachand block a woman was beaten in front of their children by BJP goons. Such an undemocratic situation was never experienced by people in Tripura”, Jiten Choudhury said.
The CPI-M leader further demanded to cancel such an undemocratic election and action against officials who announced the poll without any prior notice. For that election nobody from opposition was prepared but on yesterday night suddenly the poll was announced.
