AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN):JUMLA Era’s FAKE promises but no Cash inflow from Modi already starving Tripura’s economy. During survey in Laxmi puja markets at Gol Bazar, Agartala the businessmen alleged that like previous years this year customers are very less in numbers. From fire crackers to fruit shops all left in deplorable shape with very low profit. In this situation tomorrow has remained as the last hope for the businessmen. Talking to TIWN, fruit sellers in Gol Bazar area on Monday said, "In Durga puja anyhow the fruits were sold as club members took items but unexpectedly in Laxmi puja there is no customer till now in the market. In last year since 2 days ahead of Laxmi puja customers used to rush to the market day-night".Tensions have gripped the businessmen in capital city Agartala as market till now remained totally frustrated ahead of Laxmi puja. The sellers further added, "Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the last day. If can not sell our items, only God knows what will happen".TIWN observation in the Gol Bazar market was as "lack of customers" and the market was totally depressed. "People don't have money, market is down. We also faced losses in Durga puja", said the fire cracker sellers. As a result, Goddess of Wealth is now welcomed amid tight budget.

In other subdivisions, the conditions are same, says survey.

Laxmi puja in Bengali community is observed with candles, joys, fire crackers. Markets have been stored with various items, idols, fruits, fire crackers etc centering the puja, but this year poor families are facing acute crisis as MGNREGA and other works almost stopped in state.

In compare to this year other years the crowd from rural areas heavily observed in town areas, whereas this year rural people, specially the poor class remained less in compare to other years.

Only two days puja work at total Rs 320 rupees was given followed by very less numbers of MGNREGA works. In this situation, the economy stayed depressed, which also affected heavily in markets.

The commodity prices have been spiked up along with fuel price hikes, further damaged the Durga puja celebration. Indeed in poor people’s hand there were hardly any work along with massive terminations of workers from Municipality to Anganwadi mid-day-meal employees.

Social pensions suspension in the name of verification, delay of salaries, nil recruitment have hit the state in Durga puja season.

When BJP is backing various issues like NRC, Ayodhya's Ram Mandir State economy left totally depressed with continuous price hike of commodities. ADC areas and deep rural areas left without work, poor people's Durga Puja this year turned gloom due to no money, no income at all.
