AGARTALA, Oct 16 (TIWN): Motormouth lectures continue amid hurling mass insults to poor people across Tripura. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb did not end by saying 'Poverty is a mental illness' but further added all poor people right now existing in Tripura were associated with ganja, brown sugar business before BJP came in power, CM was addressing in a Durga puja function in his state when he said so, even though his Govt ended with Rs. 320 puja wage to poor and slashing of MGNREGA works, acknowledging how tribal families of border areas crossing the border illegally for livelihood everyday.BJP before coming in power continuously slammed the ruling the then CPI-M Govt for 70% poverty reeled state, but after getting Chief Minister's post, Biplab Deb declined poverty existing in state. Without taking name Chief Minister bashed one leading newspaper (Dainik Sambad) for its publication of 'starvation' news of an elderly woman Ishanbati Reang Dhankaraipara of Dhalai Distict. He also said, to malign his image such newspapers are working day night with bundles of lies. Making a cartoon face CM said, "A picture was published in newspaper. An old woman (of Ishanbati Reang Dhankaraipara, Dhalai Dist) whose bones can be counted claimed as starvation victim. I sent DM (Vikas Sing) hand he found she is a paralyzed patient".

(DM's report was surveyed by TIWN, he was forced to give that statement and the news published on Dainik Sambad was true).

"I know where is the pain  of poverty lies. They (media, opposition) are sad as Ganja business has been stopped", CM added.

Comparing ownself with Manik Sarkar CM said, "My mentality is rich and so I want to develop my state. His mentality was poor and so his state was poor. Manik Sarkar even after continuing 20 years as CM could not develop state due to his poor mentality. Nothing is called poverty. Instead poverty is a mental disease"

When Chief Minister Biplab Deb has covered his eyes under fake ‘anand ki leher’, with a shocking development a mother attempted to kill own daughter out of starvation in the state on Sepetember 15. This is not a single one, but many starvation reports are coming, however, state govt is defending itself saying "no starvation" at all.  CM's own constituency BJP worker Nipu Ghosh committed suicide in poverty on September 28.

Recently CM in many programmes claimed, Modi Govt has given free-road, free-foood, free-gas, free-home and everything is free in Modi Govt's era.
